“Change happens through movement and movement Heals”

— Joseph Pilates

What is Pilates?

In short, Pilates is Magic!

It’s also a full body, core focused, low impact method of exercise that emphasizes:

  • balance of stability and mobility

  • improved alignment

  • muscular strength, toning, & endurance

…all while maintaining an enhanced awareness of breath and quality of movement.

Joseph Pilates named his technique Contrology about 100 years ago and this unique, yet all inclusive workout, has stood the test of time.

Pilates offers modifications and advanced options for everyone. I have yet to meet a client that hasn’t benefited from the work we do.

Why I LOVE Pilates

Aside from being a well rounded full body workout emphasizing proper alignment, core initiation, and connection to breath while strengthening and lengthening your muscles from head to toe….

it’s just Magic!

No other workout leaves me feeling as good.

Like many things in life, it’s about the quality and effort you put into it, so if you apply yourself during a Pilates session, you’ll not only enjoy the benefits during, but long after. I love the ability to use the springs, straps, and varied pieces of equipment to improve my overall strength and range of motion.

I love the power required to use my own body’s resistance on the mat. I love that each session or class builds on a progression of movements and sequences, but has no limits to what I can learn and do. I love that there are countless modifications to accommodate the version of my body I’m dealing with on any given day.

If you are pregnant, injured, recovering from trauma (physical/emotional), living with illness, or happen to be in tip top shape, Pilates is for you!
