Oh hey there!
Welcome to &Pilates and thank you for your interest
My name is Blayne and I want you to know a little more about me.
Originally from Portland, ORegon…
I began dancing at an early age and fell in love with musical theatre soon after seeing my first national tour.
To help pay for classes, I became an assistant instructor at my local dance studio, and soon began teaching my own classes and private lessons.
The teaching bug hit me hard. I immediately responded to the concept of helping others achieve their goals.
What a rewarding feeling!
As a dancer I have cultivated a strong sense of body awareness, along with accruing many injuries over the years. Physical therapy was always a fine start to healing but it wasn’t until I was introduced to Pilates that I learned how to take better care of myself long term.
It was also clear that this was the next step in my teaching career and I would be able to reach the masses.
I hold several certifications and continue to further my education in various forms of health and fitness. Now with an ongoing goal of balance in my body and my life, I am able to implement various forms of fitness, dance, the Melt Method…and Pilates in my teaching style.
I customize each work out to the person in front of me.
Consistent communication with my clients is imperative and together we cultivate an ongoing progression of overall health and wellness while diving into the details of alignment, range of motion, strength, stability, and more.
I truly love what I do, and with over 20 years of experience I have the skills to help anyone willing to do the work. Whether you are recovering from surgery or a serious injury, have an ongoing issue like Parkinson’s, MS, arthritis, etc, are an elite athlete in need of refining your abilities, or consider yourself an ordinary person looking to improve your life, I’m here.
I’m confident I can help you achieve your goals.
Let’s get to it!
The phrase “no pain, no gain” has long implied that exercise has to hurt in order to be effective.
This is simply not true.
Muscle soreness? Sure. Aware that you gave a little extra to your glutes or triceps yesterday? Great! But pain does NOT equal gain. Inability to function post workout is not an indication of good health. I’m here to teach you how to get out of pain while gaining so much more. I’ll help you get stronger, longer, and more confident in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You may even replace the pain concept with Blayne!
No Blayne, no gain. Boom.
…see what I did there? HA!
