Blayne Gregg-Miller has truly made a difference in my life.

I am 67 years old and over the years, have sporadically exercised with weights and cardio and at times, with a trainer. I had also taken some yoga, but never Pilates, until three years ago, when my doctor recommended it for some deterioration issues in my back and my gym was offering a free lesson; thus, I was introduced to Blayne.

I have never been a particularly coordinated person and often lack balance, but Blayne’s instruction has changed all that. I have limbered up, toned my arms and thighs, have much more control of my body, have much more energy and less stress, and have had success in eliminating my back pain. I take private lessons with her twice a week and each one is an adventure. Although we do familiar routines at which I am becoming more adept, she is always adding new ones to challenge me and to make our sessions more interesting. I feel the greatest sense of accomplishment when, after several attempts, I finally “get” the new routine as well as knowing that I have progressed to a higher level overall than when I started.

Blayne is a lovely, warm, and caring person…and fun! I look forward to catching up on her life and she understands mine, which in turn helps her in guiding my session. And, in her concern for my total body awareness, she has also given me Melt instruction. I could not imagine a more rewarding experience with Pilates, and I look forward to it each and every time.

ACTOR. SINGER. GRAPHIC/WEB DESIGNER. KNITTER. HISTORY BUFF.

I get ridiculously excited about effective communication through design and I high-five myself when I solve a problem (in code, in design, in life). I yell the answers (not in the form of a question) at Jeopardy contestants and laugh heartily when I’m dead wrong.

etg design studio is a boutique design and web studio founded by me (Eliza Gilbert) in 2001. I work with small businesses, non profits, artists, creatives, and entrepreneurs to build custom, results-driven Squarespace websites that represent who they are and attract their ideal client or customer.

But, wait! That’s not all! I also fly like the wind with desktop publishing, have mad design skills, and chew on branding mood boards for a snack!

I have a corporate background in design, communication, and consulting (with a focus on helping companies communicate with their employees) and a freelance background specializing in small businesses, theatre companies, nonprofits, and the arts.

After working regionally in theatre and light opera -- and then enjoying a 13+ year career as a Graphic Designer and a Communication Consultant -- I returned to school and finished a BFA in Acting from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro that I had begun in my 20s.

The knitting is slow going and I sometimes get distracted from it. As for history... I'm a junkie. Documentaries and biographies are my drug. Lately I'm a little obsessed with Prohibition and late 19th / early 20th century US sociological and political history.
